Becoming a Node Operator for Aqua Patina (AP)

If you’re interested in becoming a Node Operator within the Aqua Patina (AP) ecosystem, here are the essential steps and requirements to get started:

AVADO Device Requirement:

• To participate as a Node Operator, you should operate an AVADO device. Ownership of this device is verified through an AVADO NFT, which serves as proof of ownership. This requirement helps ensure the decentralization and security of the AP network, as the hardware is independently managed by individual operators.

Establishing Your Node Operator Score:

• Your Node Operator Score reflects your performance and reliability as a potential operator within the AP network. If you have previously staked with AVADO, you can start building your Node Operator Score, which will be crucial for future participation.

• If you are new to staking with AVADO, you can begin by downloading the Holesky Test Net. This network allows you to start staking and establish your initial Node Operator Score. However, please note that the Node Operator Score is still being defined, and for now, participation will be limited to a few selected Node Operators.

Receiving AP SSV Key Share:

• Eligibility to receive an AP SSV (Secret Shared Validator) Key Share is based on your Node Operator Score. This key share enables you to participate in the secure, distributed validation process that is essential to the AP network. The SSV technology enhances security by distributing key management responsibilities across multiple operators.

Current Status of Node Operator Participation:

• At present, the Node Operator Score criteria are still under development, and participation will initially be limited to selected Node Operators. The full criteria and scoring process will be finalized soon, and the AVADO community will be informed when broader participation becomes available. We appreciate your patience as we refine this system to ensure that only capable and reliable operators contribute to the AP network.
